Lodges that show live availability use the EOB booking system. EOB was built from the ground up to accommodate the eccentricities of alpine lodges. A "pillow based" system where each pillow is booked, yes, both sides of a double bed can be booked and paid for. Most lodges operate "hostel style" allowing multiple groups to share a room. As of 2021 (and a result of COVID) room bookings are now also an option.
